Dr. Kamal Rashid and Dr. Bart Tarbett have received a grant from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services’ Biomedical Advanced Research and Development Authority (BARDA) to aid in the increase the manufacturing capacity of flu vaccines in developing countries.

USU’s CIB has been awarded two years of support totaling $807,000, with continued funding potentially valued at $2.6 million over five years. This grant is part of the World Health Organizations’ effort to strengthen the ability of developing countries to produce flu vaccines.
