Center for Integrated BioSystems

Biotechnology BuildingThe CIB is an active and vibrant focal point for life science activities at Utah State University. A multifaceted core facility at USU, the CIB is dedicated to agricultural and environmental biotechnology research. The Center's scientists and staff work together to further our core components: Research, a Core Service Lab Facility, Biotechnology Training and Student Education.

To keep pace with the rapid changes of biotechnology, we are always taking on new projects. We are constantly updating our scientific tools, and most recently we've developed our strength in metabolomics and bioinformatics. Our goal is to maximize CIB's biotechnology contributions and accomplishments in the Western Region, while providing tools that allow others to do the same.

RESEARCH

The research group has several active and diverse projects that encompass plant, animal, and microbe genomics. Our projects include collaborators from many disciplines, on-campus and off-campus, academic and industrial. more »

CORE LABS

Our core labs consist of genomics, proteomics, flow cytometry, and bioprocessing, all providing fee-for-service offerings to life scientists both on-campus and off. We offer Next Generation Sequencing among our latest tools. more »

EDUCATION

The CIB strives to be a national leader in biotechnology education and outreach programs. The aim is to educate the public about the developments in the field of biotechnology both in the state of Utah and nationally. more »
