The CIB is an active and vibrant focal point for life science activities at Utah State University. A multifaceted core facility at USU, the CIB is dedicated to agricultural and environmental biotechnology research. The Center's scientists and staff work together to further our core components: Research, a Core Service Lab Facility, Biotechnology Training and Student Education.
To keep pace with the rapid changes of biotechnology, we are always taking on new projects. We are constantly updating our scientific tools, and most recently we've developed our strength in metabolomics and bioinformatics. Our goal is to maximize CIB's biotechnology contributions and accomplishments in the Western Region, while providing tools that allow others to do the same.
RESEARCH
The research group has several active and diverse projects that encompass plant, animal, and microbe genomics. Our projects include collaborators from many disciplines, on-campus and off-campus, academic and industrial. more »
CORE LABS
Operated with a biotechnology business model, our core labs consist of genomics, proteomics and bioinformatics, all providing fee-for-service offerings to life scientists both on-campus and off. Always updating our tools, we've just acquired an Affymetrix Gene Expression system. more »
EDUCATION
The CIB strives to be a national leader in biotechnology education and outreach programs. The aim is to educate the public about the developments in the field of biotechnology. We reach out to people of all ages in every corner of the state of Utah and nationally. more »
GRANTS
The staff at the Center for Integrated BioSystems (CIB) understands that integrated and collaborative research initiatives are not only the future of biosciences, but they require support and funding at a variety of levels. We also realize that the competition for funding is becoming increasingly competitive. more »
